Chybotek - a seven-sided stone weighing several dozen tons and a diameter of about four meters, it is supported only in two places and can be rocked.
From a distance, the rock group seems to be ordinary stones, but up close it is hard to believe that it is still in one place. According to old legends, boulders block access to the underground cave, where hidden treasures lie...
How to get to Chybotek?
Two hiking trails lead towards Chybotek. The first one, marked in black, leads around Szklarska Poręba. The second one is on the way between Szklarska Poręba Górna - Szklarska Poręba Dolna Railway Station.

"The House of Gerhart Hauptmann" City Museum is located in Jelenia Góra - Jagniątkowo (formerly Agnetendorf), in the villa of the German writer and Nobel laureate of 1912 - Gerhart Hauptmann.
The house was built in the years 1900-1901 according to the design of Hans Grisebach, an architect from Berlin. The residence, situated on a granite rock, surrounded by a park with an area of approx. 1.6 ha, was called "Wiesenstein" (The Meadow Rock). It was built as an observation villa with a wonderful view of the Karkonosze Mountains.
The writer lived in the villa from 1901 until his death in 1946.

NOVOSAD & SON Glassworks and Brewery is another interesting place worth seeing, just 20 minutes by car from Szklarska Poręba. The brewery in Harrachov is one of the most frequently visited by tourists attraction. Its magic is that it allows you to spend varied time in one place. The brewery NOVOSAD & SON (Glass Factory and Brewery Novosad & Son) is a stylish, typically brewerish restaurant, unique mainly due to its own beer production, which takes place in front of guests. Harrachov unfiltered beer with live yeast is unique because of its excellent taste and high quality. You can also taste the flavors of beer from this brewery at the Czarny Kamień Resort & SPA restaurant.
The brewery and the restaurant are located on the premises of the oldest private glass factory Novosad & Son in the Czech Republic (it was founded before 1712). The museum has a collection of historical glass from the production of the Harrachov glassworks, presenting all periods of production and manufacturing technologies. There is also an exhibition devoted to the development, history and successes of local skiing.
Visiting the glass factory is possible throughout the week (from Monday to Sunday) from 8.00 am to 3.00 pm. There is also a large self-service shop in the neighborhood which sells local glass products. During the tour, you can see the exhibition of products, the smelting hall with furnaces, and the grindery.

At the facility of Czarny Kamień Resort & SPA you can admire a magnificent well, which was built at a time when the Walloons lived in Szklarska Poręba. Not only Szklarska Poręba is associated with Walloons, but also the Czech settlement Jizerka - a village that was founded in the 16th century. The Walloons looked for the sapphires in the streams there.
Jizerka is a place worth going for a hiking or cycling trip, and in winter for skiing - also cross-country skiing. An interesting place is Bukoviec mountain and nature reserve and the Museum of the Jizera Mountains.
How to get there?
The best way to reach Jizerka is by car along the road around Smědava and through the Souš dam, past which there is a left turn onto a smaller path towards Horní Polubný. In Horní Polubný, turn left by the church into an even narrower path, which is not marked by any means and leads directly to the parking lot next to Jizerka. From there, it is still about 1 km to the village. Note: if you go to Jizerka in winter from Horní Polubný, take snow chains with you, as the road here is only cleared of snow with a snowplough. Jizerka is reachable on foot from Smědava, which is about 6 km from there.

Mumlava Waterfall (Czech: Mumlavský vodopád) is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Karkonosze Mountains located near Harrachov.
The waterfall is about 9 meters high, and the plunge pool at the bottom of the waterfall is 6 meters deep, while the cascade is about 10 meters high. The waterfall is located on the Mumlava stream, which starts at Mumlava Meadow. Then the water of the stream flows towards Harrachov, having created numerous smaller and larger cascades and plunge pools for over thousands of years.
How to get to the Mumlava Falls?
The easiest way is from Harrachov - along the blue trail from the centre of the town towards Labská Bouda hostel or along the yellow trail which connects Rýžoviště and Nový Svět parts of Harrachov. Nearby, there is the Mumlavská bouda chalet and the popular excursion restaurant "U lišáka" - so there is a place to recharge your batteries before further hiking. There is an asphalt road which is a very good perspective for elderly people and families with a baby carriage.
By car or by train?
By car - there is a paid parking lot near the bus station in Harrachov, from which you can immediately enter the bridge over the road (blue trail), the walk to the waterfall itself takes about 20 minutes
By train - transfer from Szklarska Poręba Górna to Harrachov station. There is a distance of about 5 km from the station to the waterfall, it takes about 1.5 hours to walk.

Panczava waterfall is the highest waterfall in the Karkonosze Mountains and the Czech Republic. Not to see it being so close would be a great loss, and each of the roads provides communing with nature and incredibly beautiful views. There are various ways to reach the waterfall from Szklarska Poręba.
Its height is 148 m, and the total height of all cascades is 250 m. The waterfall is located on the Czech side of the Karkonosze Mountains in the Panczava Pit by the Elbe Valley.
How to get to the Waterfall?
We can reach the Panczava Waterfall from the side of Szrenica Mountain along the red trail through the Elbe Spring, Labská bouda. One way distance is 5.3 km, walking time 1.5 hours. Alternatively, take the yellow trail from Śnieżne Kotły, then the red trail through Labská bouda, the distance is only 2.9 km, walking time about 1 hour. The third option is the route from Harrachov, which is relatively easy, the waterfall is located about 1 km from the Labská bouda hostel. In the summer season, you can also reach Labská bouda from the Czech side (Harrachov) by bus or Medvědín ski lift.
A magnificent and very steep rock brink above the Kamienna valley, up to 20m high, a very good vantage point on the Karkonosze Mountains - Szrenica and Śnieżka.
On the Sudeten road, between Szklarska Poręba and Świeradów Zdrój (at an altitude of 775 m above sea level), we encounter an extremely sharp, and therefore dangerous turn. The road almost turns back making a 180-degree curve.
On the Sudeten Road, between Szklarska Poręba and Świeradów Zdrój, at an altitude of 775m above sea level. there is a very sharp and dangerous turn (the road bends almost 180')
A great vantage point on the panorama of the Karkonosze, the town and the Jelenia Góra Valley. Zakręt Śmierci ("Curve of Death") owes its name to numerous car accidents caused by drivers who did not exercise caution.
Below Zakręt Śmierci, by the trail to Zbójeckie Skały, there is an adit of an old pyrite mine from the 17th century.
Access through streets: Buczka, Dworcowa, Armii Krajowej, direction to Świeradów Zdrój. The black trail leads through Zakręt Śmierci (a circular trail around Szklarska Poręba) and the yellow trail from Szklarska Poręba Dolna through Zbójeckie Skały to Wysoki Kamień.

The highest waterfall in the Polish Karkonosze Mountains, its threshold is at an altitude of 843 m above sea level and falls down a three-stage cascade into a beautiful gorge.
Behind the middle cascade there is the so-called "golden cave" - a cave carved partly by the Walloons, inside of which there are clusters of pegmatite and amethysts.
The uniqueness of the area can be confirmed by the fact that, at the foot of the waterfall in the Kamieńczyk Gorge, the scenes for The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, a film known to all children, were filmed there.
Respite can be found right next to the waterfall - at the Kamieńczyk hostel.
